Nai Thon Beach

Nai Thon BeachNai Thon beach is a quiet bay located between Layan and Nai Yang beaches. Until recently Naithon has enjoyed a relatively solitary existence. A place that locals know and visit, this small town with its' picture perfect beach has been almost forgotten by the tourist trail. The winding roads that lead to Naithon give breathtaking views of the white sandy beach and crystal clear waters beyond and the small town along the beach road consists of a number of shops and restaurants, offering local cuisine and handicrafts.

Naithon borders The Sirinath National Park and as such is a protected environment. The beach is quiet and unspoilt with soft white sand and welcome shade from the casuarina trees that line the shores. Power boats and jet skis are prohibited yet it is possible to hire a long tail boat to sail to a neighbouring small island. The caves around the coast of Naithon are great for diving and snorkeling and full of amazing coral and angel fish, accessible at high tide and just moments from the shore.

Located on pristine headland above the clear waters of Naithon are the villas of Trisara. Developed by Anthony Lark, formerly of the Amanpuri in Surin, this upscale resort development is favored for it's top class facilities and the utmost privacy it affords it's guests. It is popular with celebrities such as Madonna and Jackie Chan who have holidayed at the resort.

Similarities can be drawn between Naithon and Surin.

Surin began to develop with the opening of the Amanpuri Hotel in 1988 and since then it has developed into an exceptional up market area with many 5 star hotels and developments. The appeal of Surin as with Naithon is the beautiful sandy beach and amazing headland views of The Andaman Sea.

Trisara, established 2 years ago, and the lack of other vacant West coast land has generated increased interest in Naithon from other developers and although the National Park protects the area from excessive construction it does allow for more planned development in the area.

Yet Naithon, due to its' proximately to the Sirinath National Park, should never see the mass development that has occurred in other parts of the island, such as Patong and Kata. It will certainly benefit from the high end development around the town. All this makes Naithon an excellent place to invest. Naithon has outstanding natural beauty and an unspoilt beach, it will always remain a great place to watch the sunset and enjoy a glass of chilled wine at one of the local bars along the beach.
